As the new Brand Manager at Starke Agency, since I began working here September 9th, there has not been a day go by that hasn’t made me love this company or my job here more and more.
From the September 22nd Golf tournament hosted by the Greater Montgomery Home Builder’s Association where we got to set –up and serve from a 6-liter margarita machine, to meeting the Mayor of Montgomery, Police Chief Finely, Fire Chief Jordan and more, the opportunities here are boundless!
One of the bigger events I have coordinated here so far has been our Employee Appreciation Luncheon, which was very deserved by our employees. Gift cards were given to all employees while one lucky employee won a big-screen TV in our raffle.
Starke employees really know how to work; hence our 9th consecutive year being named as a Best Practices Insurance Agency!
Another part of my job here at Starke that I love are all of the philanthropic things we do here for those less fortunate.
We participate in Meals on Wheels every Wednesday, rotating shifts. Trey and I personally go every Friday to the third floor of the Rosa Park’s Museum where we read the newspaper to the blind via Troy University radio. Coming up, we have a canned-food drive planned and in April we are hosting “Spread the Joy” benefitting breast cancer.
This month, Bo Starke, Jr., who preceded Trey in the ownership of Starke Agency, was recognized for his philanthropic work with the Alabama Wildlife Federation in their new NaturePlex, in which, as a VIP Donor, he was rewarded a room in his name: The Bolling P. Starke, Jr. Community Room.
Though what we do may seem small, Starke is worried about only two things: making a difference and giving YOU confidence moving forward.
