2016 was quite the year! Filled with not just work, but fun, food, charity, concerts, golf tournaments and more, 2016 brought lots of love and left us with lots of memories! Furthermore, we acquired 3 new employees:
Melissa Thurber, CFO; William Van Hooser, Life & Health/ Employee Benefits; and Brent Teel, Risk Consultant.
In addition, our very own Charlie Harris was awarded Boss of the year by the Greater Montgomery Insurance Professionals thanks to his leadership abilities.
Many of our employees became grandparents this year, and one even became a new mother! Looking back on all this year has offered, we sure did take advantage of it here at Starke.
With all the holidays you can think of, from Valentines to Halloween, reasons to get festive were not lacking this year!
But, since there’s always so much going on in the office, it’s nice to focus our attention elsewhere. And if there’s one thing we all as employees can agree on, the return we get and the joy we feel when helping others is tremendous.
Because of this, 2016 was a record for our River Region United Way fundraising campaign! Together we raised over $13,000 for the organization.
In the Community:
We had car washes and cook outs, brought in countless canned goods for the Montgomery Food Bank, and tried to make every holiday a little more special to those served through MACOA.

In addition, as we look ahead to 2017, you can expect more from Starke. We are currently in the makings of a video testimonial, our current receptionist has obtained her license and will begin working in our Commercial Lines, and soon, due to a transition in our computer-management system, you’ll have an app for all your insurance needs!
