Starke Cares Enough to Wear Pink

Starke employees purchased pink t-shirts from the Montgomery Fire Department to support the fight against breast cancer. The proceeds of the sale went to benefit the Joy to Life Foundation and American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Awareness Fair.
Annette Dupree, a Commercial Account Advisor, encouraged Starke employees to get involved this year. Mrs. Dupree says, "The reason I decided to get employees involved was for Kathy Morris at our agency. She is a breast cancer survivor and has always encouraged Starke Agency employees when they are going through health issues. Even though I'm not a breast cancer survivor myself, I had my own fight with cancer in 2008. Kathy really helped me during my difficult time. My hope is to encourage others the way Kathy has encouraged so many here. So when Chief Cooper at the MFD asked me to support this cause, I jumped at the opportunity."
This project, “Care Enough to Wear Pink,” is a joint effort between the Montgomery Fire Department and the Firefighters Association. The firefighters will be wearing the shirts on duty on October 28, 29, and 30. Starke employees will be wearing theirs on Friday, October 29th.
