Starke Agency Raises Over $1,600 for the Joy to Life Foundation

Montgomery, AL, April 20, 2009 — Starke Agency, Inc., an insurance brokerage and risk management company based in Montgomery, Alabama, entered a team into the the 2009 Walk of Life. Each team was responsible for raising support with the donations benefitting the Joy to Life Foundation.
Starke Agency's team (pictured above) was able to raise over $1,600 dollars. As to date, the 2009 Walk of Life raised over $144,000 dollars for the Joy to Life Foundation. This number is about $6,000 dollars shy of their $150,000 dollar goal, but the organization plans to continue to accept donations until April 26, 2009 in hopes of reaching their goal.

About Joy to Life Foundation
The Joy to Life Foundation is a non-profit organization providing free mammograms for medically underserved women under 50 years of age in 28 counties in South Central Alabama. The organization was founded in 2001 by Joy and Richard Blondheim of Montgomery, Alabama. Joy Blondheim, a breast cancer survivor, along with her husband, Richard, are dedicating their time and efforts to women who are fighting to win the battle against breast cancer. The Joy to Life Foundation has been able to provide over 1,700 mammograms to date, and 11 women have been diagnosed and sucessfully treated.
