Priester's Pecans
Priester’s is a family-owned manufacturing company specializing in making pecan deserts, candies, pies, cakes, and bulk pecans. For over seventy years, Priester’s has built a strong reputation throughout the Southeast. In fact, their Pecan Fruit Cake and Pralines were recommended by the Alabama Bureau of Tourism and Travel as two of the “100 dishes to eat in Alabama before you die.”
Fire Destroys Priester’s Manufacturing Facility
For over twenty years, we have managed Priester’s risk and insurance programs. Late one night in November, the unthinkable happened, putting Starke’s risk management and insurance programs to the test.
An electrical fire caught in the kitchen of Priester’s Pecans and rapidly set the entire building ablaze. Even with a volunteer fire department at the scene in less than fifteen minutes and fourteen other volunteer fire departments there shortly after, it was only a matter of time before the entire building was beyond repair.
From the initial evaluation of the damage to final rebuilding of Priester’s $2.2 million state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, Starke Agency played an active role, ensuring everything progressed smoothly.
